a little bit about me

Hi!

My name is Sydney, but all my friends call me Syd. I am so happy you're here! The first thing you should know is that I LOVE what I do! As an artist who grew up painting and sketching, I see hair as another medium in which I can create. I am passionate about designing hairstyles that are customized according to your hair length, color and inspiration in order to showcase your individual features. Together, we will transform your vision into reality, making sure you feel extraordinary on your special day! If you know me, you know that my love for Jesus is profound; I believe He created me to create and to make others feel beautiful. I feel that I've discovered my calling which allows me to do exactly that!

In my professional & personal life I strive to be as authentic as possible. I carry that idea into creating styles that hopefully make you feel like an elevated version of yourself while still keeping true to who you are. Leading you to walk down the aisle feeling comfortable in your own skin with full confidence in your beauty professional.

Fun Fact:

I didn't grow up dreaming that someday I would be a hairstylist. I actually grew up on a farm and was a total tomboy! I decided to go to cosmetology school on a whim after I graduated high school. I didn't even know how to braid! While in cosmetology school I developed a passion for bridal styling. I left with big dreams in mind, ready to start my new adventure!

What To Expect:

I prefer a personable & intimate approach when it comes to looking and feeling your best on your wedding day. I am the sole stylist for "The Updo Darling". I have a booking minimum of 5 services (bride + 4) and a 7 service maximum (bride + 6). Which means if you book me for your wedding day, I will not only be the one doing the hair for you and your bridal party, but I will also be the one styling your hair for your bridal preview, responding to your emails and answering your questions! I always arrive with positive energy to ensure a relaxing experience as well as top notch service.​​
